Margie Politzer combines her love of travel and photography, seeking to capture a glimpse of the people and places she visits. She is most inspired by people doing everyday (and not-so-everyday) things, mainly in developing countries. In recent years, she has been concentrating on Spanish-speaking countries in the Americas, and occasionally, Asia.
Margie has been seriously taking photos for over 40 years. At one time, she considered a full-time career in photography. She assisted in a photo studio, and shot for community newspapers and at various events. However, photography lost its magic for her in that context.
She discovered stock photography and liked the model of shooting first and selling later. After first signing with a local Philadelphia-area stock photo agency, she signed with Photo Researchers in 1995, and with Lonely Planet Images in 2001. Her photos are now represented by Getty Images and The Image Works.
Her work has been featured internationally in such media as magazines, books, brochures, and websites. Margie has a BFA in Illustration from Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). Raised in New York City, Margie lives in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
